Flexibility in losing Premier Status due to life events.
Delta just announced it will allow Premier Status holders to freeze their status temporarily in case of significant life event preventing them from traveling as frequent as usual (see our NEWS section). Qantas and British Airways have similar policies. It always useful to contact the airline about details; maybe they make an exception for having children, change/loss of work, death of a close one etc.
