2002 Louis Roederer Cristal Brut Rosé Millesimé: the colour is a light salmon pink with silver reflexes and still good medium-fine pearlage; in bright daylight pastel green and yellow hues and reflections are visible. The nose is composed of strawberries, raspberries, violet leaf, with a herbal undertone delighting my olfactory senses. On the palate it is herbal initially, soon to be dominated by fresh apples, white peaches and lemons, followed by medium-ripe cherries, with whiffs of dry caramel at times evident too. These linger for a while, are crisp, intense, with good texture but not very deep. The finish is glorious and lasts for over 60 seconds.
One of the finest Rosé Champagnes ever tasted. Drink - 2030. May 2019. 4.75/5
