1849 founded by John Lobb, and the London shop established 1866.

In 1900 the Paris branch was established.  in 1976 the Paris shop was sold to Hermes.  The London shop of John Lobb Ltd remains independent as a family business making bespoke shoes only.  The Hermes-owned business makes bespoke shoes in their atelier in Paris.  In 1982 Hermes added ready-to-wear collections under the John Lobb name.

A pair of bespoke Norwegian shoes by John Lobb Ltd. London.  Note that they did not care about elegance so much, but to accommodate the shape of one's feet as perfectly as possible.  It wears like a tailored glove and is beautifully comfortable.
