Château Haut Brion Blanc

1988

1988 Château Haut-Brion Blanc Pessac-Leognan; the grapes are  Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon.  Rich yellow colour, with a good herbal-citrus bouquet; in the mouth herbal with basil, a touch of lemon, with dry honey in the background.  It is faded a bit, but still very much endowed with sufficient fruit.  After more oxygenation a subtle earthiness is present; the finish is 30 seconds long.  Past the peak but still a good wine;  drink up. April 2019. 3.5/5
