The choice for a day watch is broad, with leather being a bit more elegant than metal in general.  All colours are permissible, but they should harmonise with he rest of the outfit.   For leather straps, choose black, navy and grey for business,  and brown for the country, and the rest mainly for leisure.  Avoid precious jewels.
