CARVEN Vert et Blanc

Vert:

Clary sage is at the fore of the opening noted right from the start.  A good galbanum impression joints in, with whiffs of basil and slight hints of laudanum later on.

Blanc:

While florals, mainly gardenia, jasmine and, adding depth, a delicious ylang-ylang, which, together with touches of cinnamon and custard, adds a creamy character to the later stages of the drydown.

The rest:

There is the addition of aldehydes at the beginning that adds brighter sparks.  Also, in the second half of the development of this creation, an oakmoss that is never dominant, but rather soft and blending in seamlessly with the rest of the mix.  At the and a touch of benzoin balances out the restrained floral sweetness.

I get moderate sillage, very good projection and nine hours of longevity on my skin.

A gorgeous creation for spring evenings, this delicious composition is constituted of ingredients of the highest quality that are blended beautifully.  Released 1958, alas discontinued now.  4/5.
