PENHALIGON'S  The Uncompromising Sohan

An opening dominated by an oud note right from the start, a sharp oud that it dominate but not too shrill.  The oud is similar to many oud notes that are synthesised in the frag lab, and it lacks any leathery undertone; but a certain spiciness is present at times.

The drydown adds a dark vetiver.  It is not an earthy version and remains very much in the background.

A rose impression is also present - one is tempted to add “naturally” given that the market has been awash with rose+oud releases over last last few years.

I get moderate sillage, very good projection and six hours of longevity on my skin.

Another rose+oud scent suitable for autumn, not bad but rather synthetic and lacking imagination.  2.75/5.
