Bushukan

by MOLTON BROWN

Citrus with herbs - that could be the motto given to the top notes. The citrus is lemony but with an added twist that reminds me a bit of yuzu. The herbal side is represented by basil, but whiffs of sage are also present at times. All this is freshened up by lashings of bergamot.

The drydown adds wood mainly, which is veering towards cedar but withou a strong component of pencil shavings. The base keeps a bit of the cedar, but adds a cistus impression that has a somewhat balsamic undertone accompanying it right to the end.

I get moderate sillage, very good projection and six hours of longevity on my skin.

A summery scent but is not really brightly refreshing, but a bit more of a subdued nature. It is executed well with one or two interesting twists. 3.25/5
