This rare Champagne, which is only produced in certain years of superior harvest, is from Le Mesnil. It is reportedly owned by the Laurent-Perrier group. Only about 40 vintages have been produced since 1905, and the yield tends to be around 50000 bottles per released year. Salon is always a Blanc de Blancs, i.e. 100% Chardonnay.
This is not exclusively sources from one Clos only, and hence it is not a single-vineyard Champagne. The grapes come from various contracted growers in the Commune of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, with additional grapes added from Salon's own Jardin de Salon vineyard (1 ha).
